
ArmInfo. About 85 thousand beneficiaries of the family allowance program will receive additional assistance. At a meeting on April 16, the Armenian government approved the 13th program of anti-crisis measures to overcome the socio-economic difficulties caused by the coronavirus epidemic.
According to the Minister of Labor and Social Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Zaruhi Batoyan, it is stipulated that families included in the system of family allowances as of April 1, 2020 will additionally receive 50% of the amount of benefits as one-time assistance. At the same time, 70% of the allocated funds will be provided in cash, the remaining 30% will be used to pay for the costs of used electricity. If there is a debt for supply for electricity, the state's money will be used to repay them. In the case of funds already paid, they will be reissued as prepayment. 1.2 billion drams will be allocated from the state budget for the implementation of the program.
RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan noted that so far the interests of the beneficiaries included in the family allowance program have not been taken into account in the framework of anti-crisis programs. With today's decision, this problem will be solved. The prime minister also touched on the issue of non-registered employees, who, nevertheless, will be able to use both the presented program and the 9th, 11th and 12th package of events. The head of government pointed out the lack of information from society about the programs implemented by the Cabinet. He expressed dissatisfaction with the work of the press service of the government, calling for the most serious attention to be paid to this issue, actively collaborating with the media.
