ArmInfo. The EAEU countries can only joinlty with the least loss overcome the crisis caused by the pandemic of the new type of coronavirus. Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov announced on April 21 during an online round table organized by the Gorchakov Foundation.
The Russian diplomat stated that the crisis erupted at a time when the EAEU countries had to take new, qualitatively important steps in the development of Eurasian integration, where freedom of movement of people and goods, services, capital was already ensured, and where additional removal of remaining barriers was planned at the next stages, including the single energy market a couple of years later entering.
"I think that all these plans remain fully valid and this was confirmed at the recent online summit of the EAEU member countries. Meetings are being prepared at the level of heads of government, in online regime as well, and also at the level of industry ministers. My conviction is that we need to strengthen collective multilateral institutions, this applies to the Eurasian Development Bank and the corresponding Eurasian Fund, which operate and solve many important problems for member countries. So, I have no any new revelations in this matter that would come as a surprise. Cautious work to strengthen joint institutions, that's it "the Russian Minister emphasized, while expressing the conviction that the issue of establishing a union should take into account the experience of other integration associations, including the European Union, which has existed longer than the EAEU, especially regarding the functioning of supranational and Intranational institutions.
