ArmInfo. Four Armenian telecom operators increased tax payments to state treasury in the first quarter of 2020 in 2.6 times - up to 8.1 billion drams. In particular, 16.2 million drams were paid on customs duties during the reporting period, 7.1 billion drams on direct taxes (including income tax, income tax), and indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax) tax) - 3.1 billion drams. This is evidenced by the list of the largest taxpayers of Armenia published by the RA State Revenue Committee.
In this list following the results of the first quarter of this year telecom operators are located as follows: "MTS Armenia" (VivaCell-MTS trademark) - takes 5th place (versus 202 the year before), UCom takes 16th place (versus the 14th year earlier), BEON CJSC Armenia "(BeeLine trademark) - 17th place (versus 74th year earlier)," GNC Alpha "(Rostelecom trademark) - 120th place (versus 150th year earlier). "MTS Armenia" (VivaCell-MTS trademark) paid 3.9 billion drams to the state treasury for the reporting quarter versus 199.2 million for the same period a year earlier, of which 4.4 million drams - for customs duties, 1.1 billion drams - for direct taxes (including income tax, income tax), 1.3 billion drams - for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).
In the first quarter of 2020, UCom paid 2 billion drams to the budget for taxes (an annual decline of 4.8%), of which 7.4 million - for customs duties, 537.8 million for direct taxes (including income tax, income tax) and 864.2 million for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).
"BEON Armenia" (BeeLine trademark) paid 1.9 billion drams to the budget for taxes during the reporting period (annual growth more than 2 times), of which 4.3 million drams for customs duties, 459.1 million for income taxes and 755.4 mln - for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).
"GNC Alfa" (Rostelecom trademark) paid AMD 364.5 million to the budget for taxes for the first quarter (annual growth of 39.5%), of which 107.5 million for direct taxes (including income tax, income tax) and 208 million - for indirect taxes (including VAT, excise tax).
Note that in the first quarter of 2019, the four largest telecom operators in the total amount paid 3.1 billion drams to the state budget through taxes, with an annual decline of 45.6%. At that time, the companies were located in the following order: UCom, BEON Armenia (BeeLine trademark), GNC Alpha (Rostelecom trademark) and MTS Armenia (VivaCell-MTS trademark).
Recall that the Beon Armenia company, which owns the Beeline brand, turned to the Public Services Regulatory Commission at the end of December last year in order to obtain permission to sell its shares to Ucom. And in December 2018, KROU agreed to alienate the shares of the Armenian subsidiary of Rostelecom CJSC GENIES ALFA in favor of CJSC MTS Armenia.
