According to the press service of SCR, this was announced during a conference call at the company. At the same time, the volume of import of goods for the reporting period decreased by 8.9% compared to last year, export transportation increased by 7.6%, more than 15.2% of cargo was transported in local traffic. According to the company's forecast, in May a decrease in traffic volumes in all directions is expected in relation to the same month of 2019. The number of passengers carried in the first 4 months of this year compared to the same period in 2019 decreased by 16.2%, amounting to 18.8 thousand people.
As Alexey Melnikov, CEO of SCR, said during the meeting, the board of directors of the company, in view of the current situation in connection with a new coronavirus infection, approved a revised downward plan of the company's work. <I believe that in the first 4 months of this year, all divisions of the company worked efficiently and did what was necessary to maintain the volume of cargo on the railway. During the meeting, it was also noted that in the current year, the average wage level in <SCR> amounted to 246 thousand drams. For the calendar year, the average wage increased by 18.3%. Starting July 1, the company will introduce a new provision on bonuses, the essence of which is that the amount of employee bonuses will not depend on the performance of the company as a whole, but on the individual performance of employees. This measure is primarily aimed at preserving wages regardless of the projected decrease in traffic in the future. South Caucasus Railway CJSC is a 100% subsidiary of Russian Railways OJSC and provides concession management of Armenian railways. The railway infrastructure of Armenia was transferred to the concession management of SCR CJSC in accordance with the Concession Agreement signed on February 13, 2008. The concession management period is 30 years with the right to extend for another 10 years.
