The regular meeting was held in the government of Armenia under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, dedicated to the proposals on revising the system of taxation of real estate. According to the press service of the government, the proposals concerned property tax rates, in particular apartments, public, industrial areas, garages, and undeveloped land plots. In addition, the methodology for assessing property and territories, the possible consequences of changes in rates were touched upon.
It was noted that the aim of the proposals was to increase the targeting of taxation. As a result of the changes, the system of effective valuation and taxation of real estate is expected to be introduced in the republic.
Summing up the meeting, the Prime Minister instructed the responsible persons to discuss the above proposals with the leaders and representatives of the relevant commissions of the National Assembly and, based on the results of these discussions, to draw up the final draft.
