EEU leaders approve strategic directions for integration development  by 2025, but the document has not been finally adopted

ArmInfo. The leaders of the EAEU countries mainly approved the strategic directions for the development of integration until 2025, but the document has not been finally adopted. The document will be finalized taking into account a  number of proposals of the parties.

Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission, Mikhail  Myasnikovich, noted that during the discussion and preparation of the  document at various levels there was a very wide range of opinions.   They discussed not only those issues that are in the strategy, but  also a number of others. "All the issues that we managed to agree are  the result of a compromise" , he said, BelTA reports.

The only unresolved issue was the pricing of gas transportation  services on the EAEU common market.

This issue was also focused on during speeches at the summit of the  leaders of the countries of the integration association.

In addition, a number of issues that need to be further addressed are  outlined by President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. He also  proposed not to rush to the adoption of this landmark document, to  carefully modify and adopt it in the future.

President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko in connection with the  current situation has proposed approving the prepared document as a  whole. "It has no urgent proposals. This is a strategy. Therefore,  there is no hurry, except for the item on natural gas. And even if we  take a decision in this form on natural gas, this is not a specific  decision. Concrete negotiations will follow it>, the Belarusian  leader noted.

Accordingly, it was proposed to generally approve the draft document  and at the same time send the draft for revision, discussing it in a  different format and at a different time. These approaches were  supported by the participants in the meeting.
