Nikol Pashinyan: Legislative changes are being prepared that will  have a significant impact on the tax system

ArmInfo. On May 30, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, at which the issue of introducing a system for  declaring personal income was discussed, as well as a schedule of  measures to introduce this system.

According to Nikol Pashinyan, work is underway to introduce a number  of important legislative changes that will have a significant impact  on the tax system, and in general, on the system of declaring  property and income of citizens. These changes, as the prime minister  noted, are aimed at increasing the country's potential, changing  relations between the state and the citizen, and, in general,  changing expectations from the state budget of the country. In fact,  Nikol Pashinyan continued, the state budget is the aggregate amount  of the state, the country's national pocket, in which funds are  accumulated, which are then used. And when questions arise related to  the economy, social life, education, science, culture,  infrastructures, it is important to understand that speed and quality  are necessary to solve these problems. It is also important to  understand the relationship between citizens and the government, the  degree of transparency of these relations. "I believe that our  government is very transparent, more transparent than any other  government in the country. And we will continue to move forward in  this process. Ultimately, transparency should become a national  mentality," said the Prime Minister. He pointed out the importance of  having political will to implement all of these changes.

At this stage, as the prime minister noted, there are two fundamental  changes - the introduction of new forms in the property tax system  and the introduction of a system for declaring personal income. The  importance of these systems has been reaffirmed in the context of  government anti-crisis measures. Often there are questions related to  social insecurity, who needs assistance in the amount of 100 thousand  drams, and who does not. There have been cases when this assistance  was received by persons who do not need it.  And if the country had a  universal declaration system, all these issues would be resolved. The  picture would be complete, indicating the name, surname, position  held, salary, which would help in determining the addressee of social  assistance.
