Electricity generation increased by 10.3% per annum in Armenia

ArmInfo.  Electricity generation  in Armenia in January-April 2020 amounted to 2670.7 million kWh, with  y-o-y growth of 10.3%, against a decline of 9.2% a year earlier.   However, in April alone a decline of 5.6% was recorded to 587.4  million kWh.

According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in  January-April 2020 versus the same period in 2018 TPP increased  electricity generation by 57.1% to 1062.7 million kWh, the Armenian  NPP - by 0.5% to 1,053.5 million kWh. At the same time, the  hydroelectric power station reduced the volume of electricity  produced by 20.9%, amounting to 548.7 million kWh. During the  reporting period, 16.8 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy were  produced, with y-o-y growth of 36.6%. During the reporting period,  wind farms produced 1.1 million kWh of electricity, which is 21.4%  less than the indicator a year ago. The volume of energy production  by solar power plants amounted to 5 million kWh with an increase of  47.1% over the year .
