Yeremyan Projects in Jermuk opens breeding cattle farm

ArmInfo.Yeremyan Projects in Jermuk has opened a new breeding cattle farm, as a result of which high-quality dairy and meat products of the Yeremyan Products brand will appear on the Armenian market. According to the CEO of the  company, David Eremyan, in total, the implementation of the program  required investments in the amount of $ 7-8 million, of which $ 600  thousand accounted for state subsidies.

According to the press service of the economy department, the  Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Tigran Khachatryan and  his deputy Tigran Gabrielyan visited the farm to get acquainted with  the process of dairy and meat production. In particular, a round of  the dairy and meat farms of the cattle- breeding complex was  completed, where high-value cattle of the Angus, Flecky and Holstein  breeds are kept and raised.

The company's specialists presented to the Minister the entire  production cycle, which, according to them, is based on the concept  of "From seed to table".

It was noted that milk is milked mechanically, in particular, pure,  purified milk of cows through special channels goes immediately to  closed refrigerators, thereby avoiding contact with the external  environment and maintaining the quality of taste and smell. Observing  the required temperature, milk is transported on a special machine to  the production part of the Artsakh milk processing plant, where the  product undergoes the necessary processing, from pasteurization to  packaging.

In addition, the farm automated and the process of separation of feed  and feeding. After processing in a special kitchen, the animals are  fed a mixture of fresh green fodder rich in alfalfa, vitamins and  enzymes grown in a hydroponic system.

According to the source, representatives of the economic department  discussed with the director general of Yeremyan Projects David  Eremyan a number of issues related to the company's investment  programs in the field of agriculture, prospects for the development  of farm projects and increasing the company's production capacity.

In particular, David Yeremyan emphasized the importance of promoting  agricultural programs. <Thanks to these investments in 2018-2019. In  the agricultural sector, 2 large projects have been launched - pig  and cattle breeding farms. In particular, we acquired pure breeds of  cattle and began the production of dairy products. In the current  environment, it is more reasonable for entrepreneurs to channel their  potential into the development of promising areas, and from this  point of view I attach great importance to the development of  agriculture and the creation of exemplary farms. We have all the  opportunities for the development of this industry, thanks to the  implemented system of good governance and business vision>, he  concluded.

Recall that the Government of the Republic of Armenia at the meeting  on March 29, 2019. approved a program for the development of pedigree  cattle breeding for 2019-2024, under which within the next five years  the number of pedigree cattle in Armenia will increase by 10 thousand  units. The program provides for the provision of state assistance to  farmers for the purchase of cattle by subsidizing interest rates on  attracted credit resources. Loans will be granted for a period of 5  years with a maximum interest rate of 12%. At the same time, the  state will subsidize 10%. Thus, farmers will have to pay only 2% of  the loan amount. Moreover, for residents of border regions and  agricultural cooperatives, a zero interest rate on attracted  resources is set. For comparison: in 2013-2018. 2199 animals were  brought into the republic.  It should be noted that, according to the  Statcommittee of the Republic of Armenia, in January-April 2020  2791.4 thousand liters were produced in Armenia processed liquid  milk, which is 17.5% more than the indicator a year ago, sour milk  and matsun - 3 337. tons (an increase of 9.1% per annum), sour cream  - 2353.1 tons (an increase of 13% per annum), cheese - 6 092.7 tons  (an increase of 8.5%).
