Armenian Development Initiative Fund (IDeA) announced an open international competition for the development of architectural solutions for recreational infrastructure elements of the Gyumri Friendship Park. As noted in the message of the Fund, the acceptance of applications began on July 1 and will end on July 29.
"The restored park will become not only a new public place for Gyumri residents and visitors, but also a symbol of friendship and gratitude to all those countries that in 1988 after a devastating earthquake extended a helping hand to rebuild the city," the message said.
The competition will be held in 2 rounds. According to the results of the first round, the jury will select 20 participants for the development of architectural solutions. After that, participants will receive technical specifications, including the necessary information about the park's design project and requirements for the development of facilities. According to the results of the second round, the jury will select winners in 3 nominations, whose names will be announced in October.
The jury will include architect and researcher Andrei Ivanov, deputy chairman of the Committee for Urban Development of Armenia Nune Petrosyan, landscape architect and founder of the bureau Glaer und Dagenbach GBR Udo Dagenbach, chief architect and partner of OFFCON bureau Fedor Raschevsky, assistant to the governor of Shirak region Emma Baghdasaryan.
