ArmInfo. The company "Cascade Energy" in the implementation of the project to modernize the electrical substation "Lich" will receive the right to make purchases from one person. The corresponding decision was made at a meeting of the RA Government on July 9.
According to the Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan, the government had previously approved the construction program of the Masrik-1 solar power plant of industrial importance. In the near future, the construction of the station will begin. In order to ensure uninterrupted supply of electricity from the future solar generation facility, it became necessary to modernize the electric substation "Lich", which is on the balance sheet of "High Voltage Electric Networks of Armenia" CJSC. The substation, commissioned in 1961, requires radical modernization. The entire project will be carried out at its own expense. Invitations were sent to well-known companies such as ABB, General Electric, Siemens AG, Cascade-Energy LLC to submit price proposals. At the invitation, only Kaskad-Energo company presented its price offers. Other companies explained that due to COVID-19 they were not able to fully prepare for the tender process and act as the general contractor. The price offer of Kaskad-Energo LLC amounted to about $ 10 million without value added tax, but subsequently the company agreed to reduce the price offer to $ 8, 858 million. About 70% of the total cost of reconstruction of the substation is the cost of replacing equipment. Recall that "Efarvi Masrik", created by a foreign consortium, will build a Masrik-1 solar power plant in the Metz Masrik community of the Gegharkunik region of Armenia. A consortium of a Dutch company with Spanish roots Photowatio Renewable Ventures B.V and Spanish FSL Solar S.L. won a tender for the construction of the Masrik-1 station with a capacity of 55 MW. (FSL Solar SL), which, in turn, founded the Efarvi Masrik company in Armenia. In the selected area, all the necessary infrastructural conditions have been created for the construction of a modern powerful photovoltaic station that will generate 120-150 million kW / h of electricity and provide 2% of the total energy produced in the republic. According to experts, the construction of Masrik-1 will amount to 55 million euros, however, officially, the amount of investments in the construction of the station has not been reported.
It should be noted that on the balance of CJSC VVES there are 13 substations of 220 kV and 2 substations of 110 kV, the total capacity of 33 power transformers operating at which is 2561.0 MVA, and one switching point "Agarak" - 220 kV. The power of existing power transformers installed at substations of 220 kV and 110 kV is sufficient to transmit the consumed electricity. The total length of overhead lines with design parameters of 330. 220, 110 kV is 1914.73 km, including 127.62 km - 330 kV, 1366.51 km - 220 kV, 420.6 km - 11-kV, 26.58 km of which are located on the territory of Georgia, as well as 9.6 km - on 10 and 6 kV. The company also manages the Lori wind farm with 4 units with a total capacity of 2.64 mW. The energy system of the Republic of Armenia through the 220 kV Agarak switching point is connected to the energy system of the Islamic Republic of Iran via the Agar-1.2 interstate lines of 220 kV, and through the Alaverdi overhead lines 220 kV, Lalwar and Ninotsminda 110 kV with power system of the Republic of Georgia. In the territory of Armenia, VVES CJSC carries out economic activities on transmission and production of electric energy.
