ArmInfo. In January-May 2020, compared to the same period in 2019, the volume of exports of the main commodity groups representing agriculture and fish farming in  Armenia increased by 2.5%, amounting to $ 51.2 million, according to  a study by CEDI (Center for Economic Development Initiatives). Russia  was the main export destination for Armenian producers.

In particular, it is reported that the export of vegetables, certain  root crops and tubers showed an increase of 14.5% to $ 26.14 million.  The growth was mainly due to an increase in export supplies of  tomatoes (by 34.2% to $ 18.66 million), which were mainly sold in RF.  At the same time, a significant increase (by 32.3%) was recorded in  terms of the export of mushrooms, marrow, eggplant, spinach, olives,  and pepper.  Such dynamics of growth made it possible to mitigate the  consequences of a decrease in the volume of exports of cucumbers by  32.6%.

At the same time, during the reporting period, the volume of export  of fish (fresh, live, etc.) decreased by 13%, amounting to $ 10.85  million, due to a decrease in the volume of export of fresh fish (by  13.7%), amounting to $ 10.35 million, which accounts for 95% of the  export volumes of this commodity group, which was supplied mainly to  the Russian market.

The volume of exports of fruits and nuts also decreased by 16.3%,  amounting to $ 7.19 million, which was mainly due to the decline in  supplies of apples, pears and quince by 71.3%. The lion's share of  the export of this product group also falls on the Russian market.  This reduction was softened by an increase in export volumes of the  commodity subgroup "strawberries, blackberries, raspberries,  mulberries, currants, kiwi, pomegranates" by 88.4%, amounting to $  3.54 million.

Exports of live cattle showed an increase of 88%, amounting to $ 2.84  million, which was due to a multi- fold increase in exports of cattle  to Iraq. In particular, 64.5% of exports are for live cattle, and  35.6% for sheep and goats.

During the reporting period, Armenia increased exports of the product  group "coffee, tea, mate, Paraguayan tea, spices" by 13.2%, to $ 1.90  million. It is reported that the dynamics was due to an increase in  coffee supplies by 13.5%, which accounts for 97 , 8% of the total.  Russia was also the main sales market.
