ArmInfo. Most of the problems in the Armenian economy are caused by ineffective management, and if it were not for the so-called revolution, then economic growth could have been higher. The second president of Armenia Robert Kocharian stated this in an interview with a number of opposition TV channels.
According to him, if we talk about whether there is corruption in the government today, then the premiums in government bodies in the amount of $ 120 million are nothing more than its obvious manifestation. He noted that the government gave many promises and one of the important points is the diversification of the economy. But it turned out that again the mining sector remains the locomotive of the country's economic development and never before has the country's bowels been exploited so intensively. In conditions of restrictions due to the state of emergency, Kocharian noted that the state had to pay money to the population, in addition, in some areas, for example, in tourism, it was necessary to take urgent measures and save the situation, showing a separate approach.
He believes that the problem of the authorities is in the rejection of their own mistakes, and this looks like a complex. Without this, the authorities will not be able to cope with the situation. Kocharian believes that the economic downturn could be 10-12%, although in reality the pandemic should not have had such a serious impact. In the future, much will depend on the state of the global economy and the likelihood of a second wave of a pandemic, "Kocharyan concluded.
