ArmInfo. Motor Insurers' Bureau of Armenia announces an increase from August 1, of the maximum damage threshold under the Euro protocol to 200 thousand AMD from the previous 100 thousand AMD. As the Bureau explains, this new threshold applies to insured events in Yerevan, the agreed declaration for which is filled out through the ASWA mobile application.
The purpose of this change is to further reduce congestion on the capital's roads due to minor accidents, the participants of which can independently declare an insured event according to the European protocol and, together with photos from the scene, send it to the insurer through the ASWA application.
Motor Insurers' Bureau of Armenia reminds that the ASWA mobile application can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play Store platforms for smartphones with iOS 8 or Android 4.1 or newer operating systems. The links to the ASWA mobile application on the App Store and Google Play Store platforms are as follows: https://apps.apple.com/am/app/aswa/id1496323455 and https://play.google.com/store/apps/details? id = am.aswa.aswa.
In more detail, the conditions and recommendations regarding the registration of insurance claims under the European protocol are posted on the website of the Bureau of Motor Insurers of Armenia under the link: https://www.appa.am/index.php?al=agreed_declaration.
To note, the work on the transition of CTPL processes to a single window system and a single platform for the insurance market under the project "Armenian Single Window for Automative - ASWA " was launched in 2017, as part of contract concluded in 2014 with the French Bureau Veritas (Bureau Veritas Inspection Valuation Assessment and Control). Since then, such opportunities began to be introduced in stages: conclusion of insurance policies for compulsory motor third-party liability insurance through a single- window platform (October 2017); On-Line sales of policies (November 2017); purchase of policies through payment terminals with cash-in function (December 2017). And now another automation of the CTPL process has followed - registration of insurance claims under the Euro protocol through the ASWA mobile application.
It should be reminded that in Armenia, the system of registration of insurance claims for Euro-protocol in the CTPL market was introduced since March 2016, initially with a damage threshold of up to 50 thousand drams, subsequently in September of that year increased to 100 thousand drams. Starting from August 2020, another increase in threshold followed to 200 thousand drams covering the insurance cases in Yerevan. According to the data of the Motor Insurers' Bureau of Armenia, as of July 1, 2020, there are 541 784 vehicles in Armenia with a valid CTPL agreement. Their number in y-o-y terms increased by 0.9% or by 4926 units. In IC "Rosgosstrakh Armenia" 175 919 vehicles are insured, in Nairi Insurance - 107 461 units, in INGO Armenia 84,285 units, in RESO - 65,117 units, in Sil Insurance - 60,811 units, in Armenia- Insurance - 48,190 units. Of the 33,401 applications for insurance compensation submitted at the end of the first half of 2020, 13,512 turned out to be in cases of simplified road traffic accidents (according to the European protocol), for which the volume of compensations paid amounted to 956 million drams, and the average amount of one payment was 70,748 drams.
