Revenue in the communication sector of Armenia decreased by 4% in the first half of the year

Revenue in the communication sector of Armenia decreased by 4% in the  first half of the year

ArmInfo. Revenue in the  communications sector of Armenia in the first half of 2020 amounted  to 68.8 billion drams, having decreased in y-o-y terms by 4%, against  growth by 1.8% a year earlier.

According to the RA Statistical Committee, the lion's share of the  total revenues is provided by the telecommunications sector - 90.1%  or 62.3 billion drams with an accelerating y-o-y decline from 2.3% to  3.9%.

According to statistics, in June 2020 alone the total revenue of the  communications sector amounted to 11.6 billion drams, having  increased by 2.9%. At the same time, the telecommunications sector  provided revenue of 10.5 billion drams in June with a monthly growth  of 2.1%.

To note for comparison that in the first half of 2019 the revenue of  the communications sector in Armenia amounted to 71.7 billion drams.  Of this volume, 64.8 billion drams accounts for the  telecommunications sector.
