ArmInfo. Each month of quarantine measures costs the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) with a drop in GDP of 1.5 to 3%. This is stated in the materials of the Eurasian Development Bank, finance.kz portal reports. According to the bank, GDP losses of the unification countries from external factors in 2020 may be about 2%.
To note, according to the June forecasts of the World Bank, the decline in Armenia's GDP in 2020 will amount to 2.8%. In terms of Armenia's foreign trade, the WB in the previous forecast (May) expected a decline in exports and imports for 2020 by 1.5% and 2.6%, respectively. In its forecast, the IMF expects GDP decline by 1.5% in Armenia for 2020. According to the forecasts of the RA Government for 2020, the GDP decline will be 2%. The Central Bank's forecast foreshadows a slowdown in GDP growth in 2020 to a stagnant 0.7% (from an actual 7.6% growth in 2019).
