In H1 2020, Armenia increased the export of aluminum foil by 3% amid  reducing the customs value

ArmInfo. In the 1st half of 2020, 17.3 thousand tons of aluminum foil were exported from Armenia, which is 3% higher than a year ago (against 0.8% growth a year  earlier). At the same time, in monetary terms, the export of foil  showed a decline of 8.1% per annum - to $ 45.8 million.

According to the RA Customs Service, the foil was mainly exported to  the USA (36.6%), Germany (27.5%), Poland (10.4%) and the Netherlands  (8.7%), Spain (4.4%) , Austria (4.4%), Italy (3.9%), the United  Kingdom (2.7%), France (1%), as well as the Czech Republic, Hungary  and the Russian Federation.  At the same time, Armenia reduced the  volume of imported foil by 35.2% - to 695.7 tons, against a decline  of 49.1% a year earlier. The customs value of imported foil decreased  by 35.6%, respectively, to $ 2.8 million.

Foil was imported mainly from Greece (79%), Russia (6.8%), Georgia  (5.3%), China (3.9%), as well as from Ukraine, Serbia, Turkey,  Bulgaria, UAE, Czech Republic, Switzerland. According to the  Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in the first half  of 2020 production of aluminum foil increased by 13.7% per annum - up  to 17.443 thousand tons, against a decline of 5.8% a year earlier. In  June alone, the volume of production of aluminum foil increased by  3.3% - up to 2.925 thousand tons.
