In the first half of 2020, 2,722.4 kg of gold were exported from Armenia (including electroplating), which is 11.8% less than a year ago, against an increase of 32.8% in the same period in 2019. At the same time, the customs value of exported gold increased in the first half of 2020 by 6.9% - to $ 123.9 million, as evidenced by the data of the RA Customs Service.
According to the source, at the same time, Armenia reduced gold imports by 67.5% (against an increase of 7.7% a year earlier) to 331.2 kg, while the customs value fell by 60.8% to $ 17.1 million.
During the reporting period, Armenia exported gold, mainly to Switzerland - 63.2%, the UAE - 36.2%, and the remaining 0.6% to the Russian Federation. The dominant volume of imported gold came from the Russian Federation (77.3%), and the remaining 18.2% from the UAE, 3% from the USA and 1% from Switzerland.
