ArmInfo. The first issue for discussion at the meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will be the process of building uniform requirements and approaches for the movement of citizens of the EAEU member states, taking into account the real picture of the coronavirus. This was announced during a briefing on October 8 by Member of the Board (Minister) in charge of Industry and Agriculture of the Eurasian Economic Commission Artak Kamalyan.
"This is not as easy as it seems," the Minister stressed. The main question, according to him, is what should be the criterion confirming the absence of illness for citizens who intend to transport from A point to B point. To this end, a software product is currently being developed at the EDB Digital Initiatives Fund, which should automate and digitize these processes.
In this regard, Kamalyan recalled that at the last meeting of the Council, the Russian and Armenian sides expressed a desire to participate in this pilot project in order to use an application that allows citizens of one country to cross the borders of another. The member of the Board stressed that this is not only about mutual recognition of test results. What is paramount: <Firstly, the task is to approve criteria that will make it possible to determine whether a person is sick or not, because the test does not give a 100% answer to this question. And, secondly, it is necessary to understand how to automate this system, so that confirmation of the absence of illness among citizens in one country is accepted in the country to which the latter intend to visit, "he added.
