ArmInfo. The timing of the start of payments of tranches on the loan from the German KfW bank attracted by Armenia will be extended until December 30, 2022. The National Assembly of Armenia at the October 27 session ratified the letter of agreement with the Bank.
According to the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Vache Terteryan, it is planned to direct the loan funds for the implementation of the second stage of the community development program. The total amount of borrowed funds is 30 million euros, of which, according to the situation, only $ 6.5 million has been spent so far. For this reason, it was proposed to extend the start date of tranche payments by two years. Vache Terteryan stressed that the design estimates are ready and the government is ready to start quickly implementing the project. The reasons for the delay in the disbursement of credit funds are different, and they are objective in nature, one of which is the choice of consultants. In this matter, at least twice a competition for the selection of consultants was held.
Within the framework of the program, it is planned to modernize the water supply and wastewater disposal systems in 11 cities, 41 settlements. Also, the program will involve some of the 560 rural settlements that do not have sewerage systems. It is planned to modernize 555 km of drinking and irrigation water pipelines, 35.6 km of sewerage systems and install 22.4 thousand water meters.
