
ArmInfo.The ratio of public debt to GDP will reach 65% in 2020. Presenting the draft budget for 2021 on November 2, the Minister of Finance of Armenia Atom Janjughazyan said this. At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that in 2021 the share of public debt will decrease by 1.7 percentage points up to 63.2% of the country's GDP.
According to the minister, 192 billion drams will be allocated to service the government debt in 2021, with a weighted average interest of 4.6%. "We should be concerned about the level of debt not only at the moment, since our ability to further raise funds depends on the assessment of the debt burden. And here it is necessary to maintain a balance and take measures aimed at reducing its level to manageable>, he said. It should be noted that according to the RA Ministry of Finance, as of the end of September, the state debt of Armenia amounted to $ 7.855 billion, which is 7.3% or $ 533 million higher compared to the beginning of this year. The external debt has increased by 3.3% since the beginning of the year amounting to $ 5.977 billion, domestic debt - by 22.2% to $ 1.878 billion.
