Metallurgical industry in Armenia maintains upward trend

ArmInfo. Metallurgical industry of Armenia for 9 months of 2020 increased production by 7.5% per annum, against a 12.7% increase in the same period in 2019. In  particular, according to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of  Armenia, in January-September 2020, the production of ferromolybdenum  in Armenia decreased by 7.6% compared to the same period of the  previous year, amounting to 5,202.2 tons (against an increase of  12.9%).

In September alone, 240.6 tons of ferromolybdenum were  produced, which is 61.4% more than in August.

In January-September of this year production of molybdenum  concentrate increased by 68.2% (instead of growth by 31.8%) - up to  18,494 tons, and in September alone there was an increase by 49.6% -  up to 2,276 tons.

Copper concentrate production in January-September slowed down the  y-o-y growth rate from 13.8% by 1.7% to 285.6 thousand tons, and in  September alone, production volume amounted to 34.8 thousand tons,  with a monthly decline of 5.4%.  Zinc concentrate production in  January-September increased by 21.6% (against a decline of 5.1% per  annum) - up to 10107 tons, of which 1052 tons fell on September (an  increase of 43.7% over the month).  Production of aluminum foil for  the reporting period increased by 13.8%, instead of 3.3% a year  earlier - to 26,450 tons, while in September alone, the production of  aluminum foil decreased by 2.5% to 2,935 tons.

The production of steel pipes increased in January-September by  63.3%, instead of 4.8% growth per annum - up to 13656 tons, and in  September alone it decreased by 75.1% to 1607 tons.

Alloy (carbon) steel castings were produced in January-September in  the amount of 10,574.9 thousand tons, with an annual growth of 2.6%.  At the same time, over the month, production volumes decreased  significantly by 66.5%, amounting to 524.1 tons.

All metals produced in Armenia are exported, mainly to Europe and the  USA.
