Negative migration balance of Armenia in January-September 2020  decreased by 53.3% per annum

ArmInfo.  In January-September 2020, 39,496 cases of population migration were  registered in Armenia, which is 17% less than a year ago.  According  to the data of the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia,  12,025 people moved to the country from abroad (with an annual  decline of 33.6%), and 14186 people emigrated abroad (with an annual  decline of 37.6%).

Meanwhile, intra-republican migration amounted to 25,310 cases, with  an annual growth of 1.9%.  As a result, for the reporting period in  2020 the negative balance of migration in Armenia amounted to 2,161  people, with an annual decline of 53.3%.

The main countries, where the citizens of Armenia prefer to move are  Russia, France, the USA, Germany and Georgia.

For tourism purposes, during the reporting period, 327,735 people  visited Armenia, which is 77.5% less than a year ago.
