ArmInfo. In connection with the second wave of the coronavirus pandemic, according to updated forecasts, the GDP growth rate of the states of the Eurasian Economic Union will decrease by about 3.9% in 2020, with a recovery of growth by 3.2% in 2021.
As assistant to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina explained on November 25 during a briefing, positive economic forecasts for the EAEU countries are associated with the recovery of domestic and external demand.
<Risks to economic growth in the medium term remain highly uncertain and are more likely to be mixed in the negative. Since any deterioration in external conditions will lead to an increase in risks to the growth of the EAEU economy, and primarily for oil exporting countries,> Malkina noted.
To note, according to the latest forecast of the RA Ministry of Finance, Armenia will end 2020 with a 7.9% economic decline, while growth recovers in 2021 - by 3.2%.
