
ArmInfo.The Intergovernmental Council of the Eurasian Economic Union approved a list of exemptions to be eliminated in 2021 and 2022. On December 7, Assistant to the Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) Iya Malkina announced, noting that this list includes 12 items (11 restrictions and 1 exemption).
The Commission, she said, was instructed to prepare a final draft of a roadmap for the elimination of exemptions and restrictions on the Union's internal market for the next 2 years by March 1, 2021, as well as prepare proposals for supplementing with new and topical issues.
Malkina said that during the meeting, a plan of measures necessary to ensure the functioning of a single market for services in the field of construction within the Union was approved. The Commission also reported on the confirmation of the rules for determining the country of origin of certain goods, which are necessary for the purpose of public procurement. <The purpose of the document, which was developed in accordance with the instructions of the heads of government, is to ensure equal access to public procurement within the EAEU for all suppliers from all countries of the Union. And we hope that in the future, the adoption of the rules will allow us to create the incentives for industrial cooperation that are necessary to increase the level of localization of our industries and attract additional investment, "she stressed.
Malkina said that the next meeting of the EAEU Intergovernmental Council will be held in the first quarter of 2021 in the city of Alma-Ata.
