During 10 months, electricity generation in Armenia increased by 1.7%

ArmInfo. Electricity generation in Armenia in January- October 2020 increased by 1.7%, amounting to 6 357.9 million kWh. (against a decline of 2.7% a year  earlier). At the same time, in October alone, generation decreased by  1.8% to 620.9 million kWh.  

According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia, in  January-October 2020 TPPs increased electricity generation by 2.9%  per annum - up to 2,605.6 million kWh.  Hydroelectric power plants,  on the contrary, reduced production by 25.4% - to 1564.5 million kWh.  Armenian NPP increased electricity generation by 34.8% - up to 2168.9  million kWh.

Wind power plants produced 1.7 million kWh electricity in the  reporting period, which is 34.6% less than a year ago. The volume of  electricity generated by solar power plants for the reporting period  amounted to 17.2 million kWh, with a y-o-y growth of 50.9%. During  the reporting period, 29.6 thousand gigajoules of thermal energy were  produced, with a y-o-y growth of 47.3%.
