Champagne production grows on the eve of New Year holidays in Armenia

ArmInfo.In January-October 2020, the production of alcoholic beverages in Armenia, with the exception of champagne, continues to subside since the outbreak of  the coronavirus pandemic, while a year earlier, over the same period,  all lines of alcohol production demonstrated growth.

According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia,  the production of champagne increased in January-October by 17.1% per  annum, amounting to 526.4 thousand liters. At the same time, in  October alone, volumes increased 2.5-fold - up to 182.3 thousand  liters.

During the reporting period, 29.6 million liters of brandy were  produced, which is 11.4% less than the year- ago indicator. However,  in October the production of brandy increased by 33% - up to 4.5  million liters.  The volume of wine produced in the reporting period  decreased by 17.9% per annum to 7.8 million liters, with an increase  in October by 19% - to 1.2 million liters.

The production of vodka, liqueur and other alcoholic beverages  decreased in January-October by 24% per annum - to 3.3 million  liters, and beer - by 11.9% to 20.7 million liters. At the same time,  in October the volumes of vodka production decreased by 5.6% - to  378.1 thousand liters, and beer - by 41.9% to 1.3 million liters.  During the reporting period, Armenia produced 266.3 thousand liters  of whiskey, which is 59.1% less than a year ago. In October alone,  whiskey production increased by 18.5% - up to 56.9 thousand liters.
