In Armenia, the service sector reduced volumes in January-October 2020. to the same period of 2019. by 12.8% (against growth by 15.1% a year earlier) to  1.413 trillion. drams ($ 2.9 billion). In October alone, a 2.9%  decline was recorded, with the provision of 147.5 billion drams ($  299.9 million).

According to the Statistical Committee of the Republic of Armenia,  the deterioration in the dynamics of the service sector was recorded  in all areas, with the exception of the financial sector and the  sphere of information and communication. In particular, the catering  sector changed its dynamics from 28.2% growth to 48.2% decline,  culture, entertainment and recreation - from 22.3% growth to 11.8%  decline, education - from 3.8% growth by 11.4% decline, healthcare -  from 13.4% growth to 5.7% decline, real estate transactions - from  5.1% growth to 12, 8% decline, transport - from 8.3% growth to 33.8%  decline, administrative and auxiliary activities - from 11%, - growth  to 44.3% decline, professional and technical activities - from 5.4%  growth to 9.4% decline. In the field of information and  communications, annual growth slowed down from 9.2% to 7.2%, and in  the financial and insurance sectors from 17.5% to 8%.

In terms of the volume of services provided, the financial sector  took the leading position - 387.3 billion drams (27.4% of the total),  with the lion's share of banks. The second place in terms of the  volume of services is occupied by the sphere of culture,  entertainment and recreation - 300.7 billion drams (21.3% of the  total). The third place is taken by the sphere of information and  communication - 236.9 billion drams (16.8% of the total volume), and  the main load falls on the telecommunications segment. The fourth  place is taken by the transport sector - 129.7 billion drams (9.2% of  the total). The five leaders in terms of the volume of services  provided are closed by the catering and tourism sectors - 84.1  billion drams (5.9% of the total).  The average settlement rate of  AMD to the US dollar was AMD 491.74 / $ 1 in October 2020, and AMD  484.96 / $ 1 in January-October 2020, against AMD 476.30 / $ 1 in  October 2019 and AMD 481. / $ 1 in January-October 2019
