ArmInfo.3.6 billion drams will be allocated from the state budget to co-finance programs for the development of the economic and social infrastructure of Armenian communities. The decision was made at the meeting of the RA government on December 24.
As Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan noted in his speech, at present, 150 subvention programs, implemented in 116 communities of the republic, are nearing completion. This amount is necessary for the government to fulfill its obligations to contractors. In total, in 2020, within the framework of the implementation of subvention programs, 10 billion drams were allocated from the state budget, but in fact, the volume of work exceeded this amount by 4.5 billion drams. Thus, taking into account these 14.5 billion drams and investments of local self-government bodies and individuals in co-financing programs for the development of economic and social infrastructure, the total volume of investments has almost doubled and will amount to about 29 billion drams by the end of the year.
In turn, Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia Tigran Avinyan noted that the volume of funding for joint programs with communities is growing every year. This year, despite the coronavirus and hostilities, they will exceed the volume of 2019 by AMD 5-6 billion. This pace, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, will continue in 2021.
As a reminder, the RA government began the process of providing subventions to communities in 2018. In total, 700 subvention programs have been approved aimed at repairing streets, gardens, parks, playgrounds, construction and repair of public buildings, houses of culture, kindergartens, construction and repair of drinking, sewage and irrigation water pipelines, night lighting, gasification of residential buildings.
