Cargo transportation in Armenia continues to grow amid a decrease in  passenger traffic

ArmInfo. Freight traffic in Armenia in January-November 2020 compared to the same period in 2019, increased by 1.9% - to 13 523.7 thousand tons (against a 50.7%  decline a year earlier). This is evidenced by the data of the RA  Statistical Committee.  According to statistics, of the total volume,  65.9% or 8 921.3 thousand tons falls on road transport, which is 2.5%  more than a year ago.

According to the source, during the reporting period, rail freight  traffic increased by 0.9% - to 2,997.5 thousand tons. And air  traffic, on the contrary, decreased by 21.4% - to 14.7 thousand tons.  The main pipeline supplied 1,632 thousand tons of natural gas, which  is 0.9% more than a year ago. Freight turnover decreased by 1.8% - to  4166.1 million tonne-km.

Passenger traffic for the reporting period decreased by 63.4% - to 64  964.1 thousand people. (against 4.3% growth a year earlier). In  particular, road transportation decreased by 65.8% - to 51456.2  thousand people, rail transportation - by 30.5% to 278.1 thousand  people, air - by 75.6% to 813.1 thousand people. The carriage of  passengers by electric transport decreased by 46.8% - to 12,416.7  thousand people. Passenger traffic decreased by 67.5% to 820.1  million passenger-km.
