ArmInfo.Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EU countries in January-November 2020 lingered in a downtrend with an acceleration of y-o-y rates from 7.6% to 22.8%, amounting to $ 1.15 billion.
The negative balance of Armenia's foreign trade with the EU countries amounted to $ 378.1 million, having decreased over 11 months by 4.3% (against growth by 13.5% a year earlier) amid a decline in both exports by 29.5% to $ 384.6 million, and imports by 18.9% to $ 762.7 million, which was noticeable a year earlier, however the rates were more modest - 14.2% and 3.5%, respectively. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
As a result, the share of Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EU countries in the overall structure of foreign trade decreased in y-o-y terms from 20.5% to 18.1%.
In the structure of Armenia's foreign trade with the EU countries, the largest share falls on Germany - 23% or $ 263.9 million (with an acceleration of the annual decline from 5.2% to 31.6%), Italy - 18.4% or $ 211.5 million (with a reversal of the annual dynamics from 13.7% growth to 12.5% decline), Bulgaria - 13.7% or $ 157.7 million (accelerating the annual decline from 3.6% to 30.8%), Netherlands - 9.5% or $ 109.2 million (with a reversal of the annual dynamics from 6.1% growth to 38.6% decline), and France - 6.9% or $ 79.04 million (with a slowdown in the annual decline from 24.2% to 3.3 %).
The negative balance of foreign trade between Armenia and Germany decreased by 37.2% to $ 161.4 million, while with Italy and France, on the contrary, increased by 4.1% and 7.4%, respectively, to $ 135.8 million and $ 69.5 million. Armenia's foreign trade balance with Bulgaria - by 30.3% to $ 122.1 million, and with the Netherlands - by 48.5% to $ 55.7 million, and these are the only positive indicators among the EU trading partners.
The export of Armenian goods to Germany decreased over 11 months of 2020 by 20.4% - to $ 51.3 million, with a decline in imports of goods from Germany by 33.9% - to $ 212.7 million, while a year earlier a higher decline in exports by 51.8 % was accompanied by an increase in imports by 17.6%. Exports of Armenian goods to Italy decreased by 31.9% - to $ 37.8 million, while imports of goods from Italy fell by 6.7% - to $ 173.7 million, while a year earlier these indicators recorded an increase of 19.1% and 12, 2%. Exports of Armenian goods to Bulgaria decreased by 30.6% - to $ 139.9 million, with a decline in imports of goods from Bulgaria by 32.4% - to $ 17.8 million, while a year earlier the growth of exports by 0.4% was accompanied by a decline in imports by 26,3%. Exports of Armenian goods to the Netherlands decreased by 42.4% - to $ 82.5 million, while imports of goods from the Netherlands fell by 23.3% - to $ 26.7 million, while a year earlier, export growth by 21.9% was accompanied by a decline in imports by 30,6%. Exports of Armenian goods to France decreased by 43.9% - to $ 4.8 million, with an increase in imports of goods from France by 1.4% - to $ 74.3 million, while a year earlier, export growth by 14.5% was accompanied by a decline in imports by 27,1 %.
In terms of the volume of export of Armenian goods to the EU countries, Bulgaria is in the lead, the Netherlands is in the second place, Germany is in the third place, Italy is in the fourth place, and France is in the 8th place. In terms of import volume, Germany, Italy and France remained in the TOP-3 among the EU countries, while the Netherlands and Bulgaria occupy the 7th and 11th positions.
In total, Armenia's foreign trade turnover in January-November 2020 amounted to $ 6.4 billion, being in a decline of 12.4% per annum (against an increase of 7.4% a year earlier). In particular, the decline in import volumes turned out to be more significant - by 15.9% to $ 4.1 billion, than exports - by 5.2% to $ 2.3 billion, against the growth of these items a year earlier by 6.6% and 9%, respectively. Armenia's negative foreign trade balance decreased in January-November 2020 by 26.5% per annum (against 4.4% growth in the previous year in the same period), amounting to $ 1.8 billion.
