ArmInfo. In Armenia, the process of installing and refueling gas cylinders in cars will be licensed. The National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia at the session on January 20 in the second and final reading introduced amendments to the Law "On Licensing".
According to the Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Armen Simonyan, the need for the law is conditioned by the requirements to improve road safety. This year alone, three incidents were recorded, one of which was fatal. The service life of most gas cylinders is more than 20 years, while their guaranteed service life is 15-17 years. For this reason, it became necessary to resolve this issue. In particular, it is proposed to introduce compulsory licensing of the installation and filling of gas cylinders. The licenses will be issued by private companies. The data on the licensed cylinder will be entered into a single database. Gas filling stations will not have the right to fill cylinders without a license (they can check it on an electronic database). And if the cylinders do not meet the established requirements, their use will be prohibited. The bill also envisages a ban on the installation of cylinders in bus cabins. And when installed on a roof, they must be protected from direct sunlight, snow and rain. It should be noted that there are about 350 thousand cars with gas cylinders in Armenia. Of these, only about 6 thousand belong to large companies and are constantly being tested.
