Deputy Prime Minister: The problem of unblocking transport  communications must be resolved

ArmInfo. The problem of unblocking transport communications must be resolved. Deputy Prime Minister Mher Grigoryan stated this on January 20 from the rostrum of  the parliament, answering the question of Arkady Khachatryan, MP from  the Bright Armenia faction.

The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that the refusal to unblock will  lead to the emergence of even greater security problems. Unblocking  transport communications can be a guarantee of a solution to the  issue as a whole, if it is resolved correctly. The issues of how and  what will this affect should be the subject of settlement, the Deputy  Prime Minister continued. ''Yes, there are political and economic  problems, problems related to risk analysis, but all these problems  need to be discussed. If there is an opinion that all these questions  have been resolved, and there are ready-made answers, then this is  not so. Now the process of discussions has not even begun, "the  Deputy Prime Minister said, adding that at the end of the month the  first meeting of the working group co-chaired by the Deputy Prime  Ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan will be held, during  which the rules of the discussions will become clear.

In turn, Arkady Khachatryan pointed to the existing political,  economic and other risks. And when it comes to opportunities, it is  also necessary to talk about uncertainties. The lawmaker also  recalled that on January 13 of this year, the government made a  decision to redistribute budget funds, reducing by 12.3 billion drams  contributions to the funded pension of citizens, redirecting them to  monetary and social assistance under martial law. In general, for the  first quarter of 2021, these contributions decreased by 9.7 billion  drams, while it was planned to allocate 18.6 billion drams for these  purposes. Meanwhile, contributions under the mandatory funded pension  are a legal requirement.

The Deputy Prime Minister agreed with the arguments of the lawmaker,  noting the temporary nature of the government's decision, which is  caused by urgency, and the entire amount will be restored.

To recall, on the basis of the 9th point of the trilateral statement  of the heads of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, it is envisaged to  unblock all transport communications in the region. In particular,  the matter concerns the road from Azerbaijan to Nakhichevan through  the Meghri region in the south of Armenia.
