ArmInfo. Tax collections of the State Revenue Committee of Armenia at the end of 2020 exceeded the volume of the envisaged indicator. Head of the State Revenue Committee for tax administration Karen Tamazyan announced this during a press conference on January 25.
In particular, he noted that in early 2020, according to the draft budget, the SRC set a revenues benchmark figure of 1.607 trillion drams, however, due to the spread of the coronavirus pandemic, the latter was adjusted to 1.326 trillion drams. However, as Tamazyan noted, according to the results of the year, the plan was exceeded. Thus, in 2020, we managed to collect 1.385 billion drams, which is 4.5% higher than the benchmark figure . However, he stressed that these figures are not comparable to the results of 2019.
In total, according to the head of the department, in 2020, taking into account state duties, tax collections amounted to 1.523 trillion drams, of which 138 billion drams were returned to taxpayers.
Speaking about the structure of collected taxes, Tamazyan noted that 71.3% of the total amount of tax revenues falls on the share of 1,000 large taxpayers. From the point of view of the regimes, he explained that more than 90% of the total volume of tax collections is represented by VAT payers (15 thousand subjects) and non-profit organizations (6 thousand).
As the priority areas of the SRC's activities in 2021, Tamazyan called the strengthening of control over economic entities using the old generation cash registers , the number of which, according to the latest data, is 5 thousand. Whereas, according to the requirement of the SRC, from January 1, 2019, all taxpayers had to switch to the use of a new generation cash registers. In this regard, Tamazyan said that in 2020 over 800 taxpayers were warned and over 100 were fined. "In 2021, work in this direction will continue," he stressed. In addition, this year the SRC will tighten control in the direction of taxpayers who are microbusiness entities, the number of which reaches 40 thousand, and economic entities,
To recall, according to the State Revenue Service, in 2020, 1000 of the largest taxpayers of Armenia paid 987.6 billion drams to the state treasury, which is 7% less than a year ago.
