ArmInfo. In 2020, 576 subsidy programs were implemented in 10 regions of Armenia for a total amount of AMD 26 billion. Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Suren Papikyan wrote about this on his Facebook page.
According to him, despite the difficulties of last year, it was possible to mobilize all available technical and human resources so that subsidy programs are not interrupted. The format of cooperation between the state and communities makes it possible to solve vital important problems in communities, including such as modernization or construction of irrigation and drinking water pipelines, drainage systems, kindergartens, houses of culture, improvement of public gardens and parks, repair of street roads. In many rural areas, residents have gained access to agricultural machinery. The energy efficiency program, which was carried out within the framework of subvention programs with the technical support and co-financing of the United Nations Development Program, was very important. Thanks to the thermal modernization of buildings, thermal insulation of the outer walls, residents were able to reduce their gas and electricity costs.
Earlier, ArmInfo reported that the budget for 2020 planned to allocate about 10 billion drams for subvention programs.
However, despite a difficult year, funding exceeded the expected programs by 4.5 billion drams, which are carried out on a parity basis with local government bodies. This year 72 billion drams are planned to be allocated to the regions for subsidies and subventions.
