Armenia`s metallurgical industry slows down the pace of y-o-y decline  in 2020

ArmInfo. The metallurgical industry of Armenia in 2020 slowed down the decline in production volumes to 0.4% from 4.7% in 2019. This is evidenced by the data of  the RA Statistical Committee.

In particular, according to statistics, in January-December 2020  copper concentrate production decreased by 6.1% (against an increase  of 26% in 2019), amounting to 375.6 thousand tons, and in December  alone, 29.5 thousand tons were produced, which is 3.5% more than in  November.

Zinc concentrate production increased in 2020 by 15.1% (against an  increase of 3.8% in 2019), amounting to 12,930 tons, of which 868  tons is the December volume with a monthly decline of 9.2%.   Molybdenum concentrate production increased 1.7-fold (versus 28.9%  growth in 2019) to 24,844 tons.  Ferromolybdenum decreased by 12.9%,  against an increase of 5.5% in 2019, amounting to 6,718 tons.   Aluminum foil in 2020 increased by 16.2% - up to 35,481.9 tons  (against an increase of 7.7% in 2019).  The production of steel  pipes, hollow sections and fittings increased 1.6-fold in 2020  (against an increase of 7.6% in 2019), amounting to 18 600 tons, with  a monthly growth of 0.8% - to 1,589 tons.

Alloy (carbon) steel castings were produced in 2020 in the amount of  13,734 tons, which is 7.3% lower than a year ago, instead of a  decline of 15.2% a year earlier. All metallurgical products produced  in Armenia are exported mainly to Europe and the USA.
