ICT sector in Armenia significantly slowed down the pace of y-o-y  growth

ArmInfo.The revenue of the sector of information and telecommunication technologies (ICT) in 2020 reached 318.1 billion AMD (about $ 650.6 million), exceeding the  figure of a year ago by 2.8%.

This is evidenced by the data of the RA  Statistical Committee.  According to the source, the specified total  volume is dominated by the service sector, which accounts for 86.2%  or 274.5 billion AMD (y-o-y growth of 8.1%), of which the majority is  represented by information technologies - 142.3 billion AMD (an  increase of 22 , 7% per annum), and the telecommunications segment  accounts for 126.5 billion AMD, which is 4.5% lower than a year ago.

Revenue in the ICT sector in the trade field in y-o-y terms decreased  by 20% to 41.5 billion AMD. The manufacturing segment traditionally  accounted for the smallest share - only 2.1 billion AMD(or 0.7%),  with a y-o-y decline of 40.3%.

To recall, the revenue of the ICT sector in 2019 amounted to about  310 billion AMD, with an increase of 11.8% over the year. To note,  over the past 10-15 years, the ICT industry has been growing by  10-15% annually.
