
ArmInfo.Economy Armenia is entering a recovery phase. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this on February 18 at a government meeting.
According to him, in the first 15 days of February 2021, a significant increase in trade transactions was noted in the republic. So, compared to the first 15 days of February 2020, transactions increased by 604 thousand with cash register receipts and settlement documents. At the same time, as Nikol Pashinyan noted, during the reporting period, compared with 15 in February 2020, the volume of money circulation increased by 12% or by 31.4 billion drams. The head of government recalled that in the first 15 days of February last year, there were no manifestations of the coronavirus in the country and its impact on the economy. Meanwhile, in February 2020, compared to February 2019, a significant increase in GDP was recorded in Armenia.
Nikol Pashinyan also pointed out that in the first 15 days of February 2021, the volumes of imports and exports increased. "All this suggests that the country's economy is beginning to recover after the crisis," Nikol Pashinyan said. He noted that the main problem during the crisis period was a sharp drop in consumption volumes, and there is hope for their recovery.
In turn, the Chairman of the RA State Revenue Committee Edward Hovhannisyan noted that during the reporting period the volumes of consumption, industry and services increased significantly. As for 604 thousand transactions, as the head of the KGD emphasized, both the volumes of small-scale and large-scale wholesale trade increased. 80% of all transactions are associated with transactions with cash register checks (483 thousand), and 20% - with settlement documents (over 120 thousand).
At the same time, the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Armenia Vahan Keropyan urged to be attentive to the presented figures. According to him, now there is a process of returning debts - postponed weddings, baptisms, engagement are underway. He noted the importance of not reducing volumes assistance that is carried out within the framework of various programs until the situation is fully recovered.
