State debt of Armenia by February 2021 step over $ 8 billion

ArmInfo.The State Dong of Armenia by February 2021 coped over the mark of $ 8 billion, an increase in the annual cut by 10%, and only in January - by 1%.   According to preliminary data of the Ministry of Finance of the  Republic of Armenia, published by the Stat Committee, the external  debt somewhat slowed down the annual growth - from 5.5% to 5.1%,  amounting to $ 6.1 billion, and internal debt, on the contrary,  accelerated growth from 14.3% to 23%, reaching $ 1.96 Billion, but  only in January, the growth of these indicators was meager - 0.2% and  2.1%, respectively, while a year earlier in January, the decline in  external debt by 0.6% was accompanied by an increase in internal by  3.6%.

In the structure of foreign debt, the government's share decreased in  January 2021 from 92.4% to 91.8% (against 91.6% a year earlier),  amounting to $ 5.6 billion. And the share of the Central Bank, on the  contrary, increased from 8.2% to 9% ( Against 8.4% a year earlier),  amounting to $ 499.7 million. And in January 2021, the external debt  of the government slowed down an annual increase to 5.7%, and the  external debt of the Central Bank came out for 3% growth, against  multidirectional dynamics in January 2020, when The growth rate of  the government by 6.1% was accompanied by a decline in the debt of  the Central Bank by 11.9%. Only for January 2021, the external debt  of the government decreased by 0.4% with an increase in the debt of  the Central Bank by 8.7%, against the decline in both cases in  January 2020 - by 0.6% and 0.8%, respectively.

In the structure of the domestic public debt dominated state bonds,  the share of which was 96% in January 2021 ($ 1.88 billion), with an  acceleration of annual growth of absolute value from 25% to 26.7%.   Then Armenian Eurobonds follow - $ 80.3 million, whose share in  January 2021 was 4%, with acceleration of the annual decline in  absolute value from 26% to 37.3%. As a comparison, we note that in  January 2020, the share of government bonds in the internal debt was  lower than - 92%, and Eurobonds above - 8%.

Recall that in the results of 2020, the total government debt of  Armenia was $ 7.968 billion, in the structure of which foreign debt -  $ 6.053 billion, and internal - $ 1.915 billion. Acceleration of the  growth of the public debt in 2020 from 5.8% to 8.8% was due to the  acceleration of internal debt growth with 10.7% to 24.6% while  maintaining 4.6% of the growth of external debt.
