ArmInfo. The third meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Committee in Trade Configuration took place online today.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Economy, from the Armenian side the meeting was chaired by Deputy Minister of Economy Varos Simonyan, from the EU side - by Marco Duerkop, Deputy Head of the Directorate General for Trade of the European Commission.
During the meeting, the parties discussed activities carried out within the framework of cooperation in the trade sector under the Armenia-EU Comprehensive Enhanced Partnership Agreement and relevant roadmaps in the following areas: trade in goods, customs, technical trade barriers, sanitary and phytosanitary measures, trade in services, electronic commerce, current payments and capital flows, intellectual property, government procurement, trade sustainable development, competition, state-owned enterprises, transparency, dispute resolution.
Issues related to the implementation of the provisions of Article 237 of the Agreement on Geographical Indication "Cognac", as well as further work envisaged in this direction, as well as the results of the March 24 meeting of the RA-EU Subcommittee on Geographical Marking, and the agreements reached were presented and discussed.
The agenda of the meeting also included current processes in the field of trade and investment, monitoring carried out by the EU within the framework of the preferential trade regime <GSP +>, as well as other issues of bilateral cooperation between the RA and the EU.
Based on the results of the event, an Operational Opinion on the items on the agenda of the meeting was approved.
