And only in February 2021, the trade turnover in Armenia increased by 19.7%, amounting to 225.5 billion drams ($430.8 million). According to the data of the RA Statistical Committee, the downward trend of the trade sector in January-February 2021 came from the decline in wholesale and retail trade, as well as the sagging volume of car sales.
According to statistical data, wholesale trade revenue in January-February 2021 decreased by 7.6% (against 4.6% growth a year earlier), amounting to 205.6 billion drams ($393.7 million).
Retail trade turnover in January-February 2021г. dipped more significantly by 13% (compared to 6.8% growth in the previous year), making 195.4 billion drams ($374 million).
The amount of buying/selling cars in January-February 2021г weight was reduced by 36% (versus 22.6 percent growth in the previous year), accounting for 11.4 billion drams ($21.9 million).
In the structure of retail trade, the largest turnover is provided by stores (including supermarkets) - 76.7% or 149.9 billion drams (with an annual decline of 14.2%), other retail facilities - 15.3% or 29.8 billion drams (with an annual decline of 4.9%), followed by consumer goods markets - 5.3% or 10.3 billion drams.
