At the same time, on the intrabank foreign exchange market during the reporting week, the slowdown in the growth of dollar purchases was accompanied by sales entering a decline, the trend in Euro transactions reversed the vector from growth to decline, and in ruble transactions, buying began to grow when the sales trend reversed towards the decline. The exchange currency platform has been idle for the fourth year already.
As a result of this, the dram against the dollar from April 19 to 23, 2021, continued to strengthen from 522.5 to 520.5 AMD / $ 1, becoming weaker both against the euro - from 625 to 626.5 AMD / 1 EUR, and against the ruble - from 6.9 to 7 AMD / 1 RUB. A year earlier, on April 23, 2020, the AMD exchange rate against the dollar was 479 AMD / $ 1, against the euro - 518.5 AMD / 1 EUR, and against the ruble - 6.6 AMD / 1 RUB, which, in comparison with the current exchange rates, indicates the annual devaluation of the AMD against the dollar, euro, and the ruble.
As the press service of the RA Central Bank told ArmInfo, transactions in the foreign exchange market from April 19 to 23 amounted to $ 16.1 million at an average rate of 523.59 AMD / $ 1 (versus 519.45 AMD / $ 1 in the previous week). Moreover, during the reporting week, the foreign exchange interbank, having worked actively every day, highlighted the maximum volume on Tuesday - $ 8.3 million.
At the same time, on the intrabank foreign exchange market from April 19 to April 23, as compared to the previous period (April 12-16), the growth in dollar purchases slowed down from 26.2% to 3.1%, while the sales dynamics reversed from 45.2% to 46.8% decline, the trend of euro transactions reversed from an upward 16.1-64.7% to a downward 12.5-39.3%, and on ruble transactions the purchase came out of the 1.8% decline by 45, 5% growth with a deteriorating sales trend from 22.2% growth to 8.2% decline. As a result, during the reporting period, $ 95.8 million was purchased at an average rate of 520.23 AMD / $ 1, 12.6 million euros at an average rate of 623.28 AMD / 1EUR, and 1.6 billion rubles at an average rate of 6.83 AMD / 1RUB, and sold $ 78.1 million at an average rate of 523.69 AMD / $ 1, 13.6 million euros at an average rate of 630.32 AMD / 1EUR, and 1.01 billion rubles at an average rate of 6.92 AMD / 1RUB. According to the source, from 12 to 18 April 2021 Armenian banks issued AMD 48 billion in AMD loans and $ 36.5 million in USD loans. Compared to the previous period (April 5-11), the trend in the volume of issued AMD and USD loans reversed the vector from a downward 2.7-16.9% to an upward 20-61.5%.
