ArmInfo.From April 26 to April 30, 2021, the volume of dollar transactions in the foreign exchange interbank of Armenia decreased by 30%, after a jump of 6.4 -fold in the previous week (from April 19 to April 23).

At the same time, in the reporting week,  selling in dollar transactions also increased in the intrabank  foreign exchange market, the trend of euro transactions changed the  vector from downward to upward, and in ruble transactions, continued  growth in buying was accompanied by sales coming out of decline into  growth. The exchange currency platform has been idle for the fourth  year already.  As a result, the dram continued to strengthen against  the dollar from April 26 to 30, 2021, from 520.5 to 520 AMD / $ 1,  continuing to weaken against the euro - from 626.5 to 627.5 AMD / 1  EUR, and against the ruble at the level of 7 AMD / 1 RUB. A year  earlier, on April 30, 2020, the AMD exchange rate against the dollar  was 480.5 AMD / $ 1, against the euro - 521.5 AMD / 1 EUR, and  against the ruble - 6.6 AMD / 1 RUB, which, in comparison with the  current exchange rates, indicates the annual devaluation of the AMD  to the dollar, euro, and the ruble.

As ArmInfo was told in the press service of the RA Central Bank, on  April 26-30, transactions in the foreign exchange market totaled $  11.3 million at an average rate of 521.27 AMD / $ 1 (versus 523.59  AMD / $ 1 in the previous week). Moreover, during the reporting week,  the foreign exchange interbank, having worked actively every day,  highlighted the maximum volumes on Tuesday and Wednesday - $ 2.8  million each.

At the same time, on the intrabank foreign exchange market from April  26 to April 30, in comparison with the previous period (April 19-23),  the growth of dollar purchases accelerated from 3.1% to 4.4%, while  the sales dynamics reversed from a 46.8% decline to 17.2% growth, the  trend of euro transactions reversed from a downward 12.5-39.3% to an  upward 5.6-23.5%, and in ruble transactions the growth of purchases  slowed down from 45.5% to stagnant 0.2 % when the sales trend  reverses from 8.2% decline to 1.6% growth. As a result, during the  reporting period, $ 99.98 million was purchased at an average rate of  518.87 AMD / $ 1, 13.3 million euros at an average rate of 625.78 AMD  / 1EUR, and 1.6 billion rubles at an average rate of 6.92 AMD / 1RUB,  and sold $ 91.5 million at an average rate of 521.81 AMD / $ 1, 16.8  million euros at an average rate of 631.83 AMD / 1EUR, and 1.02  billion rubles. at an average rate of 7.04 AMD/ 1RUB.

According to the source, from 19 to 25 April 2021 Armenian banks  issued AMD 53.8 billion in AMD loans and $ 36.5 million in USD loans.  Compared to the previous period (April 12-18), the growth in the  volume of issued AMD loans slowed down from 20% to 12.1%, while USD  loans were issued exactly as much as a week ago.  To  note, in  January-February 2021, the RA Central Bank made interventions in the  foreign exchange market for a total of $ 46.8 million - entirely by  sale and only in January, which formed the AMD exchange rate against  the US dollar at the level of 523.86 AMD / $ 1 against December 522.  98 AMD / $ 1. And this volume fell on January. In January-February  2021, over $ 566 million, 93 million euros and 9.3 billion rubles  were bought on the intrabank foreign exchange market, and $ 643  million, 115 million euros and 7.7 billion rubles were sold, which  formed the purchase rate in February at the level of 522.11 AMD / $ 1  ,630.58 AMD / 1 euro and 7.02 AMD / 1 ruble, and the selling rate is  at the level of 524.36 AMD / $ 1, 636.08 AMD / 1 euro and 7.09 AMD /  1 ruble, against December 518.20 AMD / $ 1 and AMD 626.25 / EUR 1 -  for purchase and AMD 521.46 / $ 1 and AMD 633.77 / EUR 1 - for sale.  In the interbank foreign exchange market, in January-February 2021,  only dollar transactions in the amount of $ 88 million were carried  out, which was accompanied by a slight devaluation of the AMD against  the US dollar to February 525.19 AMD / $ 1 from December 522.61 AMD /  $ 1. The exchange currency platform has been idle for the fourth year  already.
