ArmInfo. The alcohol industry in Armenia has managed to recover from the coronavirus crisis. Since March last year, since the outbreak of the pandemic, a decrease has been registered for all types of alcoholic beverages in the RA. However, according to the results of the first quarter of 2021, it is clear that the alcohol industry in Armenia has begun to recover. This is evidenced by the data of the RA Statistical Committee.
In particular, in the first quarter of 2021, the volume of brandy production reached 7.5% growth from a 6.3% decline a year earlier, amounting to 8.4 million liters. The dynamics of wine production also improved - with an exit from a 17.4% decline by 39.7% growth - to 2.6 million liters, champagne - from a 5.9% decline by 13.5% growth - to 118.4 thousand liters. An improvement in the trend was also observed in the production of vodka and liqueur - from a 13.9% decline to a 44.3% increase - to 1.1 million liters, and beer - from a 12% decline to 9.1% growth - to 3.6 million liters.
At the same time, an improvement in the dynamics was observed in the volume of whiskey produced in Armenia - with an exit from the 38.3% decline in the first quarter of 2020 by 3.1% growth in the first quarter of 2021 - to 85.9 thousand liters.
