Armenia`s textile industry increased its volumes by 73.2% per annum  in Q1 of 2021

ArmInfo. The volume of production of the textile industry in Armenia in the first quarter of 2021 reached 73.2% growth (from a 9.8% decline in the same period a year  ago), amounting to 402.5 million drams. This is evidenced by the data  of the RA Statistical Committee.

 And this growth in the textile  industry was provoked by a 56.1% increase in the production of  tights, leggings, socks and other hosiery by Armenian factories - up  to 4,631.6 thousand pairs. More significant positive dynamics was  observed in the production of fabrics, the volume of which for the  reporting period amounted to 2.5 tons, exceeding the indicator of a  year 1.9-fold.

At the same time, a sharp drop (by 93.7%) in the production of  carpets and rugs was registered in the textile industry - up to 0.3  tons. The production of jumpers, pullovers, jackets, jackets (vests)  or similar products (knitted or crocheted) also were in downward  trend, the volume of which sank by 48.1% - to 918.3 thousand pieces.
