At meeting of Supreme Eurasian Economic Council, Pashinyan returned  to  topic of forming a single gas market for  Union

ArmInfo.Armenia attaches great importance to the formation of a single gas market for the Union, Acting Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated on May 21 at a meeting  of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council.

"We consider it necessary that within the framework of an  international treaty, not only approaches to prices and tariff  formation in the common gas market of the Union would be agreed, but  also tariffs for the transportation of gas and third countries for  domestic consumption on the basis of transparency and a non-  discriminatory approach were set," he said. From the point of view of  integration processes, Pashinyan also called it important to identify  and remove barriers and restrictions in mutual trade.

The Acting Prime Minister of Armenia once again confirmed the  readiness of the RA government to continue joint programs, carry out  consistent work to popularize the ideas of Eurasian economic  integration and increase its international authority.

As Pashinyan pointed out, Armenia reaffirms its commitment to further  deepening cooperation between the EAEU member states in the field of  health care, joint disease prevention, and in the field of  pharmaceuticals. In terms of the development of integration, he  numbered important projects to strengthen integration, and the  availability of specialized investment funds.  Acting Prime Minister  touched upon the development of industry and infrastructures, urging  to continue work on the development of human capital. In this regard,  he urged to work out a platform for academic mobility in the field of  industry and the agro-industrial complex of the EAEU.

Pashinyan touched upon the topic of the digital agenda of the Union.  In this regard, he noted the importance of introducing the unified  "Work without Borders" search system into trial operation from July  1. The system will provide new employment opportunities in the  countries of the Union.

To note, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with the EAEU countries in  the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of 2020  decreased by 9.3% (against 5.7% growth a year earlier), amounting to  $ 459.7 million, as evidenced by the final data of the RA Statistical  Committee.  The EAEU is an international economic integration  association created on the basis of the Customs Union and the Common  Economic Space and operating since January 1, 2015. It includes  Russia, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Now the EAEU is  chaired by Kazakhstan.
