Putin proposed to create a bank of climate data and digital  initiatives in the EAEU

ArmInfo.Russian President Vladimir Putin has proposed creating a bank of climate data and digital initiatives, including those related to carbon footprint accounting,  within the framework of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU). He put  forward such an initiative on May 21 at a meeting of the Supreme  Eurasian Economic Council (SEEC).

According to the Russian leader, quoted by TASS, all EAEU countries  are showing great interest in the development and implementation of  green technologies, the implementation of their own innovative  projects in this area. According to Putin, the member states of the  union should intensify their joint work on combating climate change  and protecting the environment.

"But, of course, this topic should not be allowed to be used as  another instrument of some kind of restrictions in the economy.  Therefore, we propose to think about forming a bank of climate data  and digital initiatives in the union, including those related to  carbon footprint accounting," added the President of the Russian  Federation.

According to him, all companies of the EAEU countries working on  projects to improve the environmental situation could use this  resource.

The Eurasian Economic Union is an international organization for  economic integration, which includes Russia, Armenia, Belarus,  Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan; Moldova, Uzbekistan and Cuba have the  status of observer states. Since January 1, the Kazakh side has  assumed the chairmanship in the statutory bodies of the association.
