Armenian-Iranian business forum was held in Tehran

ArmInfo.The Armenian-Iranian business forum was held in the capital of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Tehran with the assistance of the Embassy of the Republic of  Armenia.  As reported by the press service of the State Revenue  Committee (SRC) of Armenia, the event was organized at the Iranian  Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the framework of the working  visit of the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee Eduard  Hovhannisyan to Iran.

It is reported that during a private conversation between  Hovhannisyan and Chairman of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce Golman  Hussein Shafei, the importance of cooperation between businessmen of  the two countries was noted and the huge development potential was  emphasized.

During the forum, businessmen, in particular, were interested in  changes in the areas of tax, customs legislation and administration  of Armenia. The SRC delegation presented the reforms carried out in  recent years, which have had a significant impact on the development  of trade and economic relations between the two countries.

Eduard Hovhannisyan urged businessmen with any questions related to  the use of tax and customs administration, to contact the specialized  specialists of the State Revenue Committee. He also expressed his  readiness to organize regular consultations with representatives of  the business sector in order to get acquainted with the current  problems and their solutions.

It should be noted that according to the data of the Statistical  Committee of Armenia, the foreign trade turnover of the Republic of  Armenia with Iran in the first quarter of 2021 recorded an increase  of 36.8% and amounted to approximately USD 103 million. At the same  time, Armenian exports decreased by 17.7%, while imports increased by  55.6%.
