ArmInfo.On June 1st, a Memorandum of Understanding establishing relations between the California Governor's Office of Business and Economic Development "GO-Biz" and Impact Hub Yerevan will be signed and go into effect.
As the RA Office of the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs reports, by the terms of the MOU, GO-Biz will establish and run a Trade and Services Desk in Armenia, located at the Impact Hub Armenia Social Innovation Development Foundation space, to encourage and support trade and investment by Californian and Armenian businesses. In addition, the Desk will help spur innovation and business growth in and between California and Armenia, and create new opportunities for entrepreneurs with the common goal of supporting a sustained, strategic, and mutually-beneficial partnership.
"We wholeheartedly welcome the establishment of GO-Biz's Trade and Services Desk in Yerevan and are excited to collaborate," said Zareh Sinanyan, Republic of Armenia High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs. "California is home to a large and active Armenian Diaspora population and we value the increased business traffic between us."
The MOU virtual signing ceremony will take place on June 1st at 8am PST/7pm AMT via a Facebook Live broadcast on the Office of the High Commissioner's Facebook page. The ceremony will include remarks from the RA High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs Zareh Sinanyan, California Lieutenant Governor Eleni Kounalakis, California State Senator Anthony Portantino, California State Assemblymember Adrin Nazarian, and Impact Hub Yerevan Board member Raffi Kassarjian.
