In 2020, the parliament spent 466 million drams on bonuses, monetary  rewards and special payments

In 2020, the National Assembly of Armenia spent about 1 billion drams less on salaries and bonuses than in 2019, head of the legislative body Arnak Avetisyan  said on June 4 during a preliminary discussion of the annual report  "On the execution of the state budget of the Republic of Armenia for  2020. ".

The reduction of this item of expenses, according to the  representative of the National Assembly, is due to the reduction in  hospitality and travel expenses, as well as the savings in bonus  payments. In particular, 3 billion 190 million drams were provided  for the salaries and allowances of the National Assembly employees  under the amended program, the actual expenditures amounted to 3  billion 180 million drams, 466 mln AMD were spent on the expenditure  item "bonuses, cash remuneration and special payments" instead of 601  million drams planned by the amended program. Actual hospitality  expenses amounted to AMD 38 million out of specified AMD 92 million.

According to the head of the apparatus, the parliament also reduced  fuel costs - actual costs, compared to 2019, decreased by 7% and  amounted to 57 million drams against 63 million drams of the revised  program.

In general, the expenses of the staff of the RA National Assembly for  the implementation of 6 events in the reporting year amounted to 4  billion 787 million drams, or 90.9% of the 6.96 billion drams  stipulated by the "revised program". As a result, as the  representative of the National Assembly pointed out, in general, 1.3  billion drams were returned to the state treasury.

It should be noted that according to the Ministry of Finance, in  2020, in total, the state system of Armenia allocated bonuses  totaling about 22 billion drams (about 46.2 million US dollars) to 19  thousand 709 employees.
